Quest Begins at Spiral Staircase [7, 14]

The 4 heroes assemble at the spiral stairwell in room-sw-8, each equipped with 2 Healing Potions in inventory.

Proof of Viability: Core Architectural Capabilities

Autonomous Quest Testing Pipeline Architecture
Figure 1: Full-lifecycle quest testing architecture — Map Authoring (Blockmap Creator, Quest Editor, Cartridge Bundler) ➔ Mentor AI Engine (Headless Godot 4, Control API, Decision Tree) ➔ Verification Artifacts (315-TX Audit Ledger, Visual Evidence, Viability Report).

1. Starting Potions & Emergency AI Consumption

All 4 heroes start with 2 Healing Potions each. When any hero drops to BP <= 4, the Mentor AI prioritizes drinking a potion before other actions, restoring up to 4 BP and logging a USE_ITEM transaction.

TX #68 (Elf +2 BP), TX #160 (Wizard +1 BP), TX #268 (Dwarf +3 BP)

2. Corridor & Room Secret Door Detection

The engine tracks searched_secret_rooms and searched_secret_corridor_tiles. Heroes search unsearched rooms and newly visible corridor sets, uncovering hidden exits that make progress possible.

Door-6 uncovered in Room SE-21 (TX #121) · Door-9 uncovered in Room NW-4 (TX #307)

3. Border Coordinates & Exit Stairs Walkability

The exit stairs reside on the board boundary at coordinate [-1, 4]. The engine treats exit stairs as an explicit exemption to unwalkable border tiles in is_border_tile, find_path, and move_hero.

move_hero(Vector2i(-1, 4)) -> REACH_EXIT -> QUEST_COMPLETE (TX #314-315)

4. Dead-End Room Pruning & Extraction March

Once Boss Doomguard is slain and returning to stairs is allowed, the pathfinding engine suppresses unnecessary treasure searches and avoids 1-door dead-end rooms (e.g. room-nw-10), preserving combat health for extraction.
